Yasmine Pessar, ENV SP  |  Urban Planner

Yasmine Pessar is an urban planner in the Planning + Urban Design group at Insight Civil. In this position, Yasmine uses her expertise to work on environmental planning and permitting, GIS mapping, comprehensive community planning, economic development, sustainable infrastructure project assessment, demographic and statistical analysis, and resiliency planning in New York and New Jersey. At Insight Civil, Yasmine has worked on several projects including preparing a NYSDEC permit application for a new park planned in Rockaway Beach, NY and performing an analysis of transportation and infrastructure needs in Staten Island as part of a borough-wide community needs assessment.
 
Prior to joining Insight Civil, Yasmine served as an environmental planner at Dewberry Engineers and as an environmental engineering intern at MTA New York City Transit. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in urban planning at Hunter College and holds a bachelor’s degree in urban planning and geography from the University at Albany, SUNY. In addition to her time working with her colleagues at Insight Civil, she enjoys traveling, hiking, and learning about new cultures and languages.
