Local Law 87 and Energy Efficiency
Insight Civil is providing energy efficiency technical support services for the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Energy Efficiency Technical Services task order contract. Analysts from the Insight Civil Buildings + Facilities Consulting group are supporting prime partner firms on two separate contracts to develop energy efficiency reports (EERs), perform energy audits (EAs) and retro-commissioning (RCx) as required pursuant to Local Law 87 of 2009 of the City of New York. Additional technical studies will be provided under this contract as requested by the client through scope change.
Insight Civil analysts are working with prime contractors to perform field data collection in publicly owned buildings for Level II Energy Survey and Engineering Analyses of the 2011 edition of Procedures for Commercial Building Energy Audits, published by ASHRAE. Using field data collection templates and instrumentation, energy analysts are visiting public schools to collect lighting, heating, cooling, domestic water, indoor air quality, and other space data throughout the premises. Field data is QAQC’d and transmitted to the prime firm for analysis and integration into a formal energy efficiency report.
Insight Civil is working with Steven Winter Associates and Edison Energy (formerly Eneractive Solutions) on this important citywide initiative.
