Healthcare Asset Inventory
Insight Civil provided asset management and preventative maintenance program deployment services for a large healthcare client. Our team was responsible for complete rollout of the CMMS software program, and for developing the inventory of assets for the healthcare site. Services under this contract include creating a comprehensive inventory of hospital assets, cataloging assets utilizing barcoding tags and handheld scanning devices, managing an asset database build-out that mirrors existing asset conditions in the facility, developing a preventative maintenance procedures manual with schedule, and quality assurance/quality control. The scope of work included development of recommended maintenance procedures and best practices based on knowledge of requirements outlined in applicable codes and standards (i.e. Joint Commission Standards, NYC Building, Fire, Plumbing, Electrical Codes, Department of Health, ANSI, ASHRAE, and OSHA).
Phase I scope encompassed all assets in the facility subject to regulations and standards governed by the Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC) codes. These asset groups include all components of the fire protection system, piped medical gas systems, all emergency power supply systems (EPSS), and Life Safety components such as fire and smoke doors, eye wash stations, and infection control assets. Phase II scope consists of more general mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) system components such as major HVAC equipment and pumps.
Between the full scopes for Phases I & II of both projects, Insight Civil has inventoried and over 5,000 assets to date throughout both facilities. As a direct result of the successful delivery of these projects, the client has requested additional services and contract extensions from Insight Civil.
