FiDi-Seaport Climate Resilience Master Plan
Insight Civil planners and engineers supported analysis, planning and infrastructure evaluation efforts for a climate resilience master plan covering two key neighborhoods in Lower Manhattan. Engineers at Insight Civil reviewed existing documentation (i.e. as-built drawings, construction documents and site surveys) to evaluate the existing utility, transportation, traffic, and civil infrastructure in the study area. They are also collaborated with teams from other disciplines to develop recommendations for customized local resiliency upgrades and improvements.
The project team has identified preferred resiliency improvements as well as alternative development scenarios to re-imagine these neighborhoods as more resilient and adaptive environments. Insight Civil was responsible for assembling key data and estimates for ‘preferred scenarios’, consisting of large-scale infrastructure upgrades, improvements, fortifications, re-locations and removals to increase resilience and mitigate climate-hazard risk.
