Charlie Simas  |  Consultant

Charlie Simas is a consultant at Insight Civil. He is involved in the collection and analysis of water samples throughout New York City. This work is being done alongside the NYC Department of Environmental Protection with the goal of preventing waste from entering local waterways.
 
Charlie holds a M.S. in Public Policy & Leadership with a concentration in Environmental Policy from Hunter College in New York City. Previously, he worked within the Bureau of Recycling and Sustainability at the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY). At the DSNY, Charlie was responsible for educating and enrolling commercial and residential buildings into the city’s textile and electronics recycling programs. Prior to this, he worked with communities in the South Bronx creating climate related disaster preparedness programs. In his spare time, he takes care of his large collection of house plants and his very energetic dog.
