BPCA Wayfinding and Signage program
Insight Civil, in collaboration with Arup's Wayfinding Group, is supporting the Two Twelve project team with development of a unique wayfinding signage program for the neighborhood of Battery Park City. The Two Twelve project team has worked closely with the Battery Park City Authority to develop a robust stakeholder outreach plan to be implemented from project start to finish.
Planners at Insight Civil have developed project basemaps and attended and facilitated meetings with BPC Stakeholders and the Community Board 1 Battery Park City Committee. Insight's planners performed site visits with the team to develop an inventory of neighborhood features such as transportation/transit systems and linkages, circulation patterns, destinations, site entry/exit points, transition points, critical decision points, building stock and land use mix, as well as other natural and cultural resources.
Additionally, Insight's planners performed a regulatory analysis to identify jurisdictional boundaries within the project site area. Engineers at Insight Civil will perform engineering review and field verification site visits during the design development phase of the project to determine if proposed sign location plans/schemes are technically feasible. Insight Civil's planners will lead the effort to coordinate with local authorities having jurisdiction regarding design aesthetic, placement/installation, and maintenance of all new signage.
